Last month, we had some incredible visitors from Mountain View High School who spent the afternoon exploring our tree plantings, outdoor classroom, and pollinator garden These students weren’t just here to learn, they helped create these spaces through volunteer tree planting, mulching, and garden projects! It was an inspiring day of sharing how we use these outdoor spaces for instruction and how they help make the world a better place. Last Friday, our Class of 2025 continued a proud JM tradition, the Ceili Leahy Senior Day of Service! Inspired by Ceili’s legacy of activism, generosity, and deep love for community, our seniors dedicated their time and energy to giving back. Ceili was a writer, a humanitarian, and a passionate advocate for justice, a true force for good in the world. Whether leading human rights protests, volunteering at Children’s National Hospital, or simply spreading kindness, she believed in living life vividly and inspiring others to do the same. Even in the face of cancer, she remained unwavering in her commitment to service and community. Since 2016, the Ceili Leahy Service Project (CLSP) has sparked a spirit of volunteerism at JM, encouraging students to make a difference. A heartfelt thank you to our students, staff, and community partners for making this year’s event a success! Ceili remains our guiding light, reminding us why service matters. Her words continue to inspire: "As terrible as cancer is, it really opened my eyes to the goodness in people.
