The 4-year olds at Preschool Programs enjoyed a field trip to Gari Melchers home and studio. Students got to tour the grounds and created artwork to resemble stained glass.

Fredericksburg Alliance For Student Achievement (FASA) created a sense of community with our students and their families.
Its annual SOL Kick-Celebration began on April 15 in various parts of our local community, including Hazel Hill and Heritage Park this year.
FASA aims to support FCPS students in preparing them for the upcoming SOL assessments by providing study materials they can complete at home with their parents.
The FCPS Mobil Cafe and Super Cat Bus are present, providing additional instructional resources and snacks for all FCPS K-8 students.

We look forward to seeing rising kindergarteners and their families tonight in the Hugh Mercer gymnasium from 5-7PM for the Kindergarten Registration Event! Activities include meeting the principals and teachers, speaking with the school nurse, submitting registration paperwork, and signing up for KinderCamp.
Preschool Program students and families created weather scenes and learned about the rain cycle during this month's PACT time with Mrs. Herrmann.

We encourage all families and staff members to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and support each other in nurturing mental wellness within our community.
On Monday, April 8, the rare solar eclipse will occur at the end of the school day for some students and while others will be transitioning home either by bus, car, or walking. Our concern is everyone’s safety. We know it would be tempting for some students to look at the sun which could cause injury without eye protection. We also know that many parents would like to experience the solar eclipse with their children. For these reasons, we will close schools early on Monday, April 8. This early dismissal will allow students to arrive home safely.
Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:45pm and middle and high schools will dismiss at 12:00pm. Preschool Programs will dismiss at 12:00pm.
We hope students and families take the opportunity to learn more about this extraordinary, natural phenomenon. More information on safe viewing will be coming to our FCPS families.
