Staff from the Friends of the Rappahannock group visited James Monroe environmental science classrooms to instruct on water filtration and sediment levels. Students engaged in a fun activity where different teams constructed their own filtration system and were judged by the amount of sediment and other material left in the bottom of the cup. This hands-on instruction comes as part of a Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) grant that FCPS received. We are grateful to the Friends of the Rappahannock for donating their time to help enrich our students' understanding of the watershed.
