E4 Student Consortium Recap

Collage of student led E4 event, 2022.

Central Office leadership hosted its first E4 Student Consortium yesterday. E4 stands for Environment, Energy, Efficiency, Education. James Monroe High School students were presented with FCPS's conservation wins over the last year and a half. Following a presentation on our electric buses, LED lighting, HVAC upgrades, and more, students worked in small groups to identify what successes, weaknesses, and opportunities they have seen and would like to see in our division. The groups shared their observations and questions with the consortium and then were presented with current opportunities to get involved in conservation and volunteerism within the community. Students were also reminded that leadership is not just for adults: JMHS freshman Elijah Wilson shared his vision for his "Created Equal" brand and how he was inspired by the events of 2020 to do something positive for our community - and beyond.
