Hi Penguin Families! My name is Angela Cody Hinrichs and I am the Education Program Supervisor for the Preschool Programs. I started working in Fredericksburg City Public Schools 3 years ago during the pandemic - a return to the community where I began my own education at Hugh Mercer Elementary School.

After graduating from Courtland High School in Spotsylvania, I earned a Bachelors in English and Psychology from the College of William and Mary, and returned to Courtland High to teach English. I have also taught at Salem Church Middle School in Chesterfield and at The Commonwealth Governor's School. After earning a Masters in Pre K - 12 Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University, I began my administrative career as an administrative intern at Chancellor HS, and then became an assistant principal at King George, Massaponax, and James Monroe High Schools. While I was serving as principal of Walker-Grant Middle School, I earned an Education Specialist degree from The University of the Cumberlands.

The academic and social-emotional well-being of students of all ages has been the primary focus in my career. Personally, my greatest achievement is being the mother of two wonderful adult-children: my son, Jordan, and my daughter, Kameryn, as well being "Nina" to my granddaughter, Emma. My hobbies include home renovation projects with my husband, boating, RV glamping, shopping, and traveling. I am looking forward to a great 2023 - 2024 school year!
