PROGRAM MISSION

Partnering with families and the community to ensure preschool children are healthy and demonstrate academic, emotional, and social readiness for Kindergarten.

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

The Fredericksburg Preschool Programs is based on the premise that all children share certain needs and can benefit from a comprehensive developmental program. This program is tailored to fit the needs of the local community and families involved as well as to maximize the unique experiences of each child. Preschool supports and encourages parental involvement and provides comprehensive services to enhance family development in the following areas: Health, Mental Health, Disabilities, Literacy, Nutrition, Education, Community Partnerships and Parent Involvement. 

OUTCOMES

The Fredericksburg Preschool Programs has developed outcomes as quality indicators for children to track their progress toward Kindergarten readiness. Outcomes results will be incorporated into all levels of program planning and will demonstrate program achievement of Federal and State mandates.

SERVICE AREA

Students living in 22401 will be served by Preschool Programs. In addition, FCPS serves as the grantee for our Fredericksburg Regional Head Start program and families can reside in 22401 and 22485 zip codes.
